Bhubaneswar: A woman attempted to set herself her two minor children on fire over a family feud in Kendrapara district.
The incident was reported from Bhopal village under Mahakalpada block on Saturday morning.
According to reports, Lobhabati Swain, wife of Sachitra Swain of Bhopal village, locked herself up in a room at around 7.00 am and poured kerosene on herself and her two sons. She set herself and two children ablaze allegedly over family dispute.
Hearing them scream, the neighbourers rushed to the house and doused the flames. They rescued the woman and her two children in critical condition.
The three were rushed to the CHC, Rajanagar, for treatment. After conditions of woman and her younger son deteriorated, the two was shifted to the SCB Medical College & Hospital at Cuttack.
Source said that the woman and her elder son were admitted to the hospital with 80% burn injuries. Her younger son with 20% burn injuries is undergoing treatment at Rajanagar CHC.
