Jajpur: A woman was killed and her husband and daughter sustained critical injuries in a murderous attack by unidentified miscreants at Sarangatirana village under Dharmasala police limits in Jajpur district.
The deceased, identified as Tarulata Biswal (38), was found lying dead in front of her house Monday morning. Her husband Nityananda Mallik (43) and daughter Subhashree (13) were rescued in a critical condition inside the house by the neighbours and rushed to Dharmasala hospital.
They were later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
The attack took place when the three were sleeping inside the house last night, reports said. Police have started an investigation into the incident and efforts were on to nab the assailants.
Till last reports came in, the reason behind the attack was yet to be ascertained.
