Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday arrested Junior Engineer (JE) Raj Kishore Sahu of power distribution company WESCO on charges of demanding and accepting bribe.
Acting on a complaint, the anti-corruption wing laid a trap and caught the JE red-handed while he was accepting the bribe. He had demanded the bribe from a farmer for providing electricity connection to his Lift Irrigation (LI) point. The officials also recovered the bribe money from him.
Following the arrest, separate teams of Vigilance conducted raid simultaneously on his rented house in Nuapda and ancestral house in Jagatsinghpur.
