Bargarh: Vigilance sleuths on Thursday conducted simultaneous raids on the office and residence of Bargarh Excise Superintendent Makardhwaj Barge on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Separate vigilance teams led by Bargarh Vigilance DSP AK Naik raided his residence at Budharaja in Sambalpur and seven other places in Sambalpur, Sonepur, Bargarh, Balangir and Burla.
Large quantities of cash, gold and silver were seized during the raid on his Sambalpur residence. Further details will be provided after the raid is over, said DSP Naik.
