Veterinary doctor of Pipli in Vigilance net

Pipili: Additional Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (AVAS) Subhransu Sahoo of Pipili in Puri district was caught red-handed by Vigilance officials for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 6,000.

Sources said the surgeon had demanded the graft money from one Sanatana Behera of Matiapada village in Puri district to pass bill amounting to Rs 70,000 each in favour of the latter and one Niranjan Behera.

On receiving the complaint, police laid a trap and caught the veterinary doctor red-handed while he was accepting the bribe money. Later, a case was registered at Bhubaneswar Vigilance police station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018 in this connection.
