Very heavy rainfall, thunderstorm warning issued for several districts in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar on Saturday issued Yellow Warning for several districts forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall in the next 24 hours (till 8:30 HRS of July 5).
The districts which are likely to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall are Kandhamal, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Rayagada. Similarly, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Kalahandi, Gajapati, Boudh and Puri.
Besides, the weather department issued thunderstorm and lightning alert for north coastal districts like Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh and Khurda.
For Monday, the MeT department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Dhenkanal, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Keonjhar. Similarly, districts like Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur and Jagatsinghpur will experience heavy rainfall.
On July 7, heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Bargarh.
Meanwhile, many places in south interior Odisha witnessed light to moderate rainfall today while heavy rainfall occurred at one or two places over the district of Kalahandi.
The maximum temperature of 36.7 degrees Celsius was recorded at Angul.
