Bhubaneswar: Tata Power Central Odisha Distribution Ltd (TPCODL) on Thursday launched its self-meter reading app to enable customers to scan their meter readings and generate the bill instantaneously.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to generate the electricity bill through the self-meter reading app – ‘TPCODL MITRA’

1) Consumers can register for the self-meter reading service

2) Capture the current meter reading using a smartphone and submit it on the app to generate the bill

3) Once the bill is generated, the bill can paid online through the app.

Also, customers can report theft issues or receive power cut information through the ‘TPCODL MITRA’ App.

M.Shenbagam, Chief Executive Officer, TP Central Odisha Distribution Ltd said, “We are extremely glad to launch the ‘TPCODL MITRA’ App. As a customer centric organisation, we are always committed to offer utmost convenience to our customers. The Self-Meter Reading App is a testament of our efforts to empower customers with such value added services. We will continue to launch more such services going ahead.”

The upsurge of the ongoing pandemic resulted in restricted movements due to lockdown and also made it difficult for TPCODL employees to carry out the physical meter readings.

The ‘TPCODL MITRA’ App will be especially helpful for customers since it will eliminate the misses that can happen in manual meter reading during difficult situations, he added.
