Today at IPL 2023: Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Lucknow Super Giants; Key Players, Match Timings, Toss
IPL 2023 guarantees to beat the Monday blues as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will host Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli showed how to chase a target in the opening match of RCB against Mumbai Indians. The side, however, saw a U-turn in their next match after Kolkata Knight Riders humbled RCB in their backyard. With one win and one loss, seventh-placed RCB are looking to return to winning ways.
On the other hand, LSG, who have played one more game than RCB, started their campaign with a convincing win over Delhi Capitals. The Lucknow-based franchise challenged Chennai Super Kings but eventually fell short in a high-scoring game before bouncing back in their third match against SunRisers Hyderabad. The third-placed LSG can go on top of the table if they beat RCB on April 10.
Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants clashed twice last season. On both occasions, RCB defeated LSG (by 18 runs in the league stage and by 14 runs in the Eliminator).
RCB lead the head-to-head record against LSG, 2-0.
In the LSG camp, Avesh Khan is suffering from an injury and it is yet to be determined whether Mark Wood will play or not as he missed the last match with flu.
On the other hand, RCB will continue to miss Josh Hazlewood, who returned home during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy due to Achilles tendonitis. Hazlewood is expected to be available from April 17. RCB’s Reece Topley, who was ruled out of the IPL 2023 with a shoulder injury, has been replaced by Wayne Parnell.
M.Chinnaswamy Stadium is a spin-friendly venue, aiding spinners to keep the runs under control.
