Summer Vacation in Odisha Schools from tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: In view of prevailing heatwave conditions across the state, Odisha Government directed to prepone the summer vacation for all schools from tomorrow. As per the decision, all schools — government, private and aided — for all classes upto Standard 12 will remain closed from April 21.
The concerned department will decide on date of reopening of schools. A detailed notification in this regard will be released soon. “The summer vacation in all schools will start from tomorrow. As per academic calendar, summer vacation was scheduled from May 4 to June 17.
However, by direction of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, summer vacation has been declared from tomorrow in view of prevailing scorching summer heat. The summer holidays will continue till June 17.
If needed, further decision will be taken on extending summer vacation,” informed School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash. The parent-teacher meeting will be held tomorrow from 7 am to 10 am. Only guardians will come to school without their children to attend the meeting, he added.
