Southwest monsoon touches Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Southwest monsoon has touched Odisha and is likely to cover the entire State by June 17, informed the Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
With advancement of the seasonal wind blowing from the southwest, heavy rainfall may lash few districts over next two days.
According to Bhubaneswar MET department, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati and Boudh between today and tomorrow morning.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is in the forecast at most places over the districts of South Odisha and North Coastal Odisha and at many places over the districts of North Interior Odisha during the period.
Similarly, heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kalahandi,Nuapada and heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Kandhamal, Balangir, Bargarh, Koraput, Nabarangpur between June 12 and 13. Light to moderate rain or thundershower may also occur at most places across Odisha.
