‘Siddaramaiah should talk to Pakistan’: BJP’s jibe at Karnataka Congress leader

Actor-turned-politician Jaggesh on Tuesday taunted senior Karnataka Congress leader Siddaramaiah, a day after BJP’s CT Ravi claimed Pakistan would be a safe place for the former Karnataka chief minister to contest polls from as it suited his “mindset”.

“Pakistan is a thorn to us. Earlier, they used to trouble us 24 hours and bomb us. I want to tell Siddaramaiah, you come here and talk instead go to the Pakistan border and convince them,” Jaggesh said. “Go to the G20 and convince them. Can you do that?” he asked.

The BJP has been taking aim at Siddaramaiah over his alleged “pro-Muslim mindset”. Earlier this month, Siddaramaiah had announced that he would be contesting the polls from Kolar, if the party high command agrees.

CT Ravi’s dig at Siddaramaiah was in response to a question about the former chief minister’s wish to contest from Kolar, touted to be a safe seat, in the forthcoming assembly polls. “In my opinion, Pakistan is safe for him (Siddaramaiah),” Ravi said on Monday.
