Senior Manager of OCCL in vigilance net

Cuttack: The State Vigilance sleuths carried out searches at the house of a Senior Manager of the Odisha Construction Corporation Limited (OCCL), a State-government Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), in Sambalpur on Monday.

As per the reports, the house of the senior official, Ranjan Kumar Dang was raided by a team of 2 Vigilance DSPs and three Inspectors on charges of amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Searches were also carried out at two more premises belonging to Dang, apart from his residence at Sambalpur.

Dang however, denied the charges levelled against him. “I have availed loan from banks to build this house which is registered in my wife’s name. I have not done anything wrong and was never involved in corruption,” he claimed.

“I have been filing my Income Tax returns regularly and do not have any undeclared assets. Some unknown person seems to have lodged the with malafide intentions with a view to tarnish my image,” Dang alleged while speaking to reports.
