Bhubaneswar: Schools across Odisha which are closed due to COVID-19 lockdown will not reopen on the previously scheduled date of June 17, informed School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday.
A decision in this regard was taken on the basis of new lockdown guidelines issued by the Central Government Saturday, the minister said.
As per the guidelines, schools and educational institutions in the country will be opened after consultations with states and UTs. State Governments/UT administrations have been advised to hold consultations at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders.
Based on the feedback, a decision on the reopening of these institutions will be taken in the month of July. Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare will prepare SOP for these institutions.
