Cuttack: Savitri Ratho took oath as the judge of the Orissa High Court here on Thursday. She was administered the oath of office and secrecy by Justice Mohammad Rafiq, Chief Justice, Orissa High Court.
The oath-taking ceremony was held at the conference hall of the High Court. With this, the current number of judges, including the Chief Justice, of the Orissa High Court rose to 16.
The Supreme Court Collegium had in January recommended elevation of Ratho as Judge of the Orissa High Court. Worth mentioning, she is the daughter of former Odisha DGP Prafulla Ratho.
She is also the third woman to become a judge of the Orissa HC after Justice Amiya Kumari Padhi and Justice Sanju Panda.
