Mumbai: On the day she was called by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) which is probing the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, actress Rhea Chakraborty admitted to the agency during questioning that she was procuring drugs for the deceased actor through her brother Showik Chakraborty, another accused in the case.
Sources said Rhea Chakraborty told NCB officials that she knew about Samuel Miranda who went to buy drugs from Zaid on March 17. According to her confession, Rhea not only knew about the deal but she was also coordinating with the drug peddler Zaid along with her brother Showik Chakraborty.
Rhea admitted that the chats from March 15 were true where she and Showik were talking about drugs, implying that she was procuring drugs for Sushant through her brother.
Further details from the interrogation revealed that Rhea was also aware that Showik used to score drugs from the arrested drug peddler Bashit, who visited her house once.
Actress Rhea Chakraborty has now been summoned again on Monday by the NCB for further questioning. NCB officials will be grilling Rhea for the second day as they have not got a confession from her regarding consumption of narcotic drugs. Rhea said she did not procure the drugs directly neither did she transport the drugs. Rhea said she hasn’t received and delivered the said drug, so NCB officials are trying to extract a confession from her.
On Saturday, the NCB obtained custody of Showik Chakraborty saying it has got “inkling” of the narcotics network and penetration in Bollywood.
Showik Chakraborty “dealt in drugs with many others”, the NCB told a court in Mumbai as it obtained his custody alongwith that of Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda till September 9.
