Respite from heat till May 14 in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Good news for the people of the state as their will be respite from scorching heat this summer till May second week in Odisha as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm with rain for next three days in several places across the state.
According to Bhubaneswar MeT, the thunderstorm will continue in many places dropping the maximum temperature below 40 degree Celsius except one or two places.
The wind over the Bay of Bengal will be confined in the southern region of Odisha from May 3. As per the prediction by weathermen, the wave will be blowing across the coastal Odisha along with southern part from May 4.
It is predicted that thundershower will lash northern region in May first week and gradually it will affect entire state in May second week reducing the temperature during summer. In Bhubaneswar, the temperature is likely to remain below 37-38 degree Celsius till May 15.
The MeT has issued yellow warning for various districts till May 4. While thunderstorm likely to occur at costal districts as well as Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Khurda Friday, rain may take place at one or two places over the north-coastal districts and Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Gajapati, Nabarangpur and Ganjam on May 2.
Similarly, thunderstorm is in forecast in coastal districts and Kandhamal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj on May 3. The thunderstorm with wind speed upto 30-40 kmph likely to occur over the districts of Balangir, Sonepur, Kandhamal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khurda, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Ganjam, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapara on May 4.
