PSUs, housing societies, NGOs in Odisha can set up COVID care facilities

Bhubaneswar: Corporate houses, public sector undertakings, central or state government establishments, housing societies, religious institutions or NGOs in Odisha who have the capacity to set up their own COVID care facilities will be permitted to do so and policy in this regard is going to be released soon, informed Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy on Monday.
Tripathy informed that various corporate houses and industries who have their own township or colonies with hospital facility have requested the State Government to set up COVID care facilities for their employees or members, if they are tested positive of COVID-19, on their premises by following the required protocol as many cases are asymptomatic or mild symptomatic.
In view of this, the State Government has framed a policy as per which all Municipal Corporations, Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda airport, East Coast Railway and all its centres, all seaports, all Central and State PSUs having township or colonies with required facilities, central armed police force, national disaster response force, Odisha Police, Odisha Fire Services, Directorate of Prisons, all Central institutions, universities and deemed universities both Government and private, religious bodies, resident welfare associations, NGOs or any institution interested will be allowed to set up such facilities with certain conditions.
They can set up COVID Care Homes with 10 to 20 beds as set up by the State Government in gram panchayats and wards or they can go for COVID Care Centre if they have more requirements and the adequate infrastructure. Tripathy further said that the State Government is ready to provide additional support to such organisations or institutions if needed.
