President Kovind arrives on three-day Odisha visit

Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind accompanied by the First Lady Savita Kovind arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar in a special plane of Indian Air Force (IAF) on Saturday evening.

The President and the First Lady were welcomed by Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Pratap Sarangi, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Odisha Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra and DGP Abhya at the airport.

Amid tight security Kovind left for the Raj Bhavan where he will stay overnight.

The President will grace the 18th annual convocation of NIT Rourkela tomorrow. On the same day, he is scheduled to inaugurate a Super Specialty Hospital in Rourkela as well.

On March 22, the President will visit the Shree Jagannatha Temple in Puri and pay obeisance to the deities. He will also visit the India Oil Foundation Trust Interpretation Centre at Konark, before returning to New Delhi.
