Bhubaneswar: Odia singer Shakti Mishra has been admitted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after he was diagnosed with critical liver ailment. According to reports, he is suffering from liver cirrhosis along with some other co-morbidities.
Mishra complained of blood vomiting (Haematemesis) on Sunday following which his wife Namita and son-in-law shifted him to Bhubaneswar. According to doctors, he needs immediate transfusion of around 10 units of blood due to severe haematemesis.
Earlier, he had undergone a Coronary artery bypass surgery due to critical cardiac issues and had also developed some renal problems. It is believed that he is suffering from Multiple Organ Dysfunction Syndrome (MODS), reports said.
His condition is stated to be critical and a team of doctors from various departments are monitoring his health status in the ICU. Shakti’s wife Namita Mishra informed the media about the health condition of the popular singer.
A resident of Dhenkanal, Mishra is considered as one of the most popular singers ever to decorate the Odisha music and cine industry. He is credited to have gifted numerous hit albums and movie songs during his nearly two decade-long career.
Mishra has carved a niche for himself through his melodious voice. Among his evergreen musical hits, Mo Bhugola Re Bhala Hauthila, Hai Hai Mora Malli Phoola Gajara, Bayasa Rajapathare, Tora Lamba Beni and Megha Re Megha are some of the most enchanting songs to have been produced.
His several famous songs have gone on to become scripts for remix productions for many musicians.
