According to a notification issued by the State School and Mass Education department, the last date for submission of applications by the institutions has been extended till 6 pm of July 28. It said the move followed request from ‘a good numbers of principals of Higher Secondary Schools.’
“Government have been pleased to accord permission for inviting online application through SAMS Portal for 2 more days i.e. 27.07.2021 and 28.07.2021 (6.00 P.M.) from the desirous Higher Secondary Schools for increase of seats for the academic session 2021-22,” the notification read.
The applications will be invited through the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal from the seeking Higher Secondary Schools for increase of seats for the academic session 2021-22.
The move to increase seats came after the recently-passed Class 10 students in the State expressed apprehension of scarcity of seats in Plus 2 colleges citing high pass percentage in the annual high school certificate examinations (HSC).
Earlier on June 28, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash had assured smooth and hassle-free enrolment at higher secondary schools and technical institutions amid apprehension of scarcity of seats among the Class 10 students.
