Parlakhemundi ACF death: PIL filed in Odisha High Court for CBI probe
Cuttack: An NGO Bharat Vikas Parishad on Tuesday moved the Orissa High Court seeking a CBI or SIT probe into the mysterious death of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Saumya Ranjan Mohapatra.
In the PIL filed by president of the NGO Surendra Panigrahi, the Secretary, Home Department, Central Government, Odisha Chief Secretary, Secretary, Home Department, Odisha Government, Odisha DGP, Gajapati SP and Paralakhemundi police station IIC have been made parties.
Saumya Ranjan was rescued in a half-charred state at his government quarters in Paralakhemundi on July 12. He succumbed to burn injuries while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Cuttack on July 13.
Family members of Saumya Ranjan had alleged the involvement of his wife Bidyabharati Panda, Gajapati DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and a cook in murdering him.
