Bhubaneswar: The number of deaths due to COVID-19 in Odisha rose to eight after a 63-year-old male patient of Khurda district succumbed to the deadly coronavirus, informed the Health and Family Welfare Department on Friday.
He was undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital here. He was a chronic patient of diabetes and other underlying comorbidities, said the department today.
Today, 130 new persons tested positive for the virus today taking the total count to 2608. Cuttack reported the highest 23 new cases followed by Khurda and Mayurbhanj with 22 each.
