Ollywood singer Tapu Mishra dies of Covid19

Bhubaneswar: Noted Ollywood singer Tapu Mishra died of Covid19 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital on Saturday.

The 36-year-old vocalist breathed her last at around 11 pm. She was on put on ventilator support as saturation (SPO2) level was fluctuating. The saturation level dropped drastically since last two days.

The singer was admitted to a private covid hospital on May 19, nine days after her father passed away due to Covid infection.

As her condition was deteriorating, her family members were planning to shift her to Kolkata for ECMO treatment, a source said.

The members of her fraternity have started a fundraising campaign to support her financially. Besides, they had appealed to the government for help. Owing this, Culture Department had sanctioned Rs.1.00 lakh for her treatment from Artist Welfare Fund.
