Odisha’s Covid-19 tally crosses 28,000-mark, 1215 news cases reported

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally crossed 28,000 mark after 1215 new cases were detected in the last 24 hours. The tally now stands at 28,107 informed the Government on Tuesday.

While 753 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 462 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.

The fresh cases have been reported from 28 districts- highest from Ganjam: 332 followed by Khurda : 312, Angul: 11, Balasore: 29, Bargarh: 10, Bhadrak: 2, Balangir: 21 , Boudh: 2, Cuttack: 60, Deogarh: 1, Dhenkanal: 1, Gajapati: 89, Jagatsinghpur: 47, Jajpur: 20, Jharsuguda: 2, Kalahandi: 8, Kandhamal: 14, Kendrapada: 14, Keonjhar: 77, Koraput: 73, Malkangiri: 14, Mayurbhanj: 22, Nayagarh: 7, Nuapada: 8, Puri: 11, Rayagada: 24, Sonepur: 2 and Sundargarh: 2

With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 10,545. However, 17,373 patients have recovered in the state so far.

In the last 24 hours, 9,113 swab samples were tested. So far 47,6560 tests have been conducted in the state.
