Odisha’s Covid-19 tally breaches 21000-mark, 1,264 new cases reported

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s COVID-19 tally breached 21,000 mark on Thursday after 1,264 new cases, highest single-day spike so far, were reported in the last 24 hours. Ganjam reported the highest 540 cases.
With the new cases, the state’s tally surged to 21099.
While 847 cases have been reported from different quarantine centres, remaining 417 are local contacts. Contact tracing and follow-up action is underway, said the Health and Family Welfare Department.
The fresh cases have been reported from 27 districts: Angul: 7, Balasore: 9, Bargarh: 24, Bhadrak: 30, Balangir: 1, Boudh: 2, Cuttack: 47, Dhenkanal: 6, Gajapati: 74, Ganjam: 540, Jagatsinghpur: 4, Jajpur: 17, Jharsuguda: 3, Kalahandi: 7, Kandhamal: 29, Kendrapada: 8, Keonjhar: 25, Khurda: 137, Koraput: 27, Mayurbhanj: 15, Nabarangpur: 4, Nayagarh: 61, Nuapada: 1 , Puri: 22, Rayagada: 84, Sambalpur: 20 and Sundargarh: 60.
With the new cases, the number of active cases in the state rose to 7205. However, 13,749 patients have recovered in the state so far.
In the last 24 hours, 11,010 swab sample were tested. So far 42,1931 tests have been conducted in the state.
