Odisha unlock guidelines: Malls, cinema halls & bars allowed to open

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Saturday issued fresh unlock guidelines for the month of August while keeping in mind the Covid-19 pandemic situation in the State and livelihood of people.

The new guidelines will remain in force till September 1, 2021. As per the latest government relaxations in the lockdown norms, malls, cinema halls have been allowed to operate with strict compliance of the Covid-19 norms.

SRC Pradeep Jena said that cinema halls will reopen in the State with 50 % capacity with certain riders for Cuttack, Puri and Bhubaneswar for allowing visitors.

While announcing the fresh unlock guidelines for the month of August, Jena said that the bars and eateries across the State can reopen. However, the bars and restaurants can operate with 50 % seating capacity of patrons.

The restrictions on marriages and funerals will continue as before while public places like Nandankanan Zoological park, indoor water parks will be allowed to reopen.

Bus services will continue in the State while District Collectors have been given authority to decide on reopening of religious places including Shreemandir in Puri and Lord Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar.

However, all religious, political and social gatherings will continue to be banned in the State along with exhibitions and trade fairs.
