Bhubaneswar: Soon after Odisha government accorded state anthem status to Bande Utkala Janani, there was a lot of confusion regarding the style and manner in which the song should be recited.
Clearing all confusion, Odisha Culture Department on Monday confirmed that the duration of the anthem has been fixed at 2 minutes and 11 seconds.
Cultural Department Secretary Manoranjan Panigrahi informed, “Bande Utkala Janani verse was earlier getting repeated. Now, there will be no repetition and the duration has been fixed at 2 minutes and 11 seconds. All the six verses of the song have been retained while the recitation will be in Sangeeta Sudhakara Balakrushna Das’ style.”
