Odisha reports 3,319 Covid-19 positives cases, 43 fatalities in 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: The death toll due to Covid-19 infection in Odisha continued unabated with 43 more patients succumbing to the virus while undergoing treatment in the last 24 hours. The fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 3,930 in the State, informed the Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Department on Monday.
Nine deaths were reported from Khurda district, including five in Bhubaneswar while five each from Bargarh, Nayagarh and Puri, four from Sundargarh and three each from Bhadrak Cuttack and Ganjam districts.
Similarly, two fatalities were recorded from Dhenkanal district and one each from Balasore, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sambalpur.
The State also witnessed 3,319 new positive cases in the last 24 hours taking the caseload to 9,03,789, according to the Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department.
Of the fresh Covid-19 cases reported from 30 districts, 1,896 are quarantine cases while the rest 1,423 local contact cases.
As per a data shared by the I&PR Department, Cuttack reported the highest 566 cases in the last 24 hours, followed by Khurdha district, which included the capital Bhubaneswar, reported 440 cases, Balasore (397), Mayurbhanj (199), Jajpur (194), Puri (175), Bargarh (163), Kendrapara (134), Jagatsinghpur (130), Angul (116) and Nayagarh (111).
As many as 19 districts reported cases below 100. Those are- Malkangiri (71), Dhenkanal (69), Keonjhar (65), Koraput (59), Bargarh (47), Rayagada (43), Nabarangpur (39), Sundargarh (36), Kalahandi (31), Sambalpur (29), Kandhamal (23), Ganjam (18), Sonepur (17), Boudh (16), Gajapati (12), Jharsuguda (11), Bolangir (10), Deogarh (4) and Nuapada (4).
With this, Odisha now has 32,404 active cases, while 8,67,402 people have recovered from the disease so far, including 3,578 on Sunday.
The State has so far tested over 1,36,20,526 samples for Covid-19, including 66,109 in the last 24 hours.
