Odisha reports 108 New Covid-19 Cases, Malkangiri Highest With 21 Positives

Bhubaneswar: The upward trend of Covid-19 cases continued in Odisha with 108 more persons testing positive for the virus on Tuesday. With this, the total number of confirmed cases surged to 4163 in the state.
Of the 108 new positive cases, 95 cases were reported from various quarantine centres across the state while the remaining 13 are local contacts.
Malkangiri district accounted for highest 21 number of new coronavirus cases, followed by Puri (15) while Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur reported nine cases each.
Ganjam reported 8 cases, Khurda and Gajapati seven cases each, Keonjhar 5, Balasore 4, Sundargarh 2, one case each in Cuttack, Kalahandi, Bargarh, Bolangir and Angul.
Similarly, 16 fire services personnel who returned from cyclone Amphan duty in West Bengal tested positive for the virus.
The total active cases in the state now stand at 1295 with as many as 2854 persons cured of the disease so far. The death toll remained at 11.
