Odisha: Girl student takes Matric Exam answer sheet home; Retrieved after 21 days
Balasore: In a bizarre incident, a Class-X girl student allegedly took home her Matric exam answer sheet instead of submitting it to the invigilator in Odisha’s Balasore district. The sheet was retrieved from her after 21 days of the examination.
The highly unusual incident took place on March 20 and has now come to fore. According to reports, the student had appeared for Mathematics exam at Damodar Government High School, Jamujhadi under Simulia block of the district.
However, she didn’t submit her answer sheet at the exam centre and took it with her. While answer sheets of the exam centre were sent to an evaluation centre located in Salepur area of Cuttack district, the particular sheet was found to be missing.
The concerned evaluator was surprised to see the signature of the examinee in the list while the answer sheet was unavailable. On being informed about the fiasco, the exam centre authorities contacted the headmaster of the student’s school. After an enquiry, the entire matter came to light.
The sheet was later sent to the evaluation centre, 21 days after the conclusion of the exam. Simulia Block Education Officer Prakash Chandra Mahalik said necessary action will be taken in this incident after an investigation.
