Cuttack: Results of the Odisha Annual Matric Examination 2020 have been declared by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE). State School and Mass Education Minister Samir Dash announced the results at the board office.
A total of 4, 21,256 students have passed in the annual Class 10 exams 2020. The pass percentage stands at 78.76%: School & Mass Education Minister Samir Dash.
As many as 678 schools registered 100 per cent results compared to 289 schools last years. Other the other hand, 31 schools have registered nil results compared to 82 schools last years.
Students can check their scorecards from two websites www.bseodisha.ac.in and http://bseodisha.nic.in from 11.30 am onwards.
To avoid hassles during the checking of scorecards due to possible technical problems in the website, the government has also made the SMS facility available for the students. One can check his/her results via SMS by typing RESULTOR10
This year, as many as 5,60,905 students had appeared for the Class X examination at 2888 centres across the State. The examinations were held between February 19 and March 2.
After the completion of the examinations, the evaluation of answer sheets was started from March 18. However, the evaluation process was interrupted due to Covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown.
In 2019, a total of 2,05,470 female students and 1,91,655 male students had passed the exam. The overall pass percentage was 70.78 percent for the Class 10 results.
Speaking to media while announcing the results, S&ME minister Samir Dash called upon students not to get discouraged for not performing well in the exams.
“Students should remember this is the first exam in their life and there are many more to come,” Dash said.
‘Even though we had completed the exam in due time, the process of evaluation and tallying of marks had to undergo numerous hurdles due to the pandemic,” the minister added.
