No raja celebration in Ganjam district for COVID-19

Berhampur: With few days left for the Raja festival, people throughout Odisha have started rushing to markets for shopping with the state government relaxing the night curfew for three hours till 10 pm for on Friday. However, the Ganjam district administration decided to continue with previous curfew timing to avoid congregation of public.
In view of the three-day festival, the district administration has issued Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) to be followed by the public between June 11 and June 16.
All kind of gatherings for celebration of the festival like Raja Doli, Mela, Mahotsav, feasts and traditional games played on the occasion are strictly prohibited throughout the district.
However, all essential shops, garments and stationary shops are allowed to operate between 7 AM and 7 PM during the period. Other nonessential shops are allowed to open between 7 AM and 2 PM.
