No home isolation for asymptomatic returnees from 5 high risk states: Odisha govt revises norms
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has revised its guidelines issued in view of the upsurge of COVID-19 positive cases in some states and reduced the monitoring of returnees to five high risk States instead of 12.
“In partial modification to the instructions issued above, it is clarified that at present the precautionary measures may be limited to passengers from 5 high risk states (instead 12), namely Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh,” the Health department said.
“The situation is under watch and surveillance may be extended to other States in future if the situation so warrants,” it said.
The health department also modified its order on seven-day mandatory home isolation for passengers returning from the five high risk states.
It said people coming from the five high risk states would not need home isolation if they are asymptomatic and have RT-PCR negative report (done not more than 72 hours before boarding) or a Covid Vaccination Final certificate.
Yesterday, additional chief secretary (Health) Pradipta Mohapatra, in a letter to all Collectors, Municipal Commissioners, Directors of Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda airport and General Manager (Operations) of East Coast Railways, directed to take precautionary measures at Airports and Railway Stations to prevent spread due to spsurge of COVID-19 infection in some States.
“Any laxity can result in a resurgence of the pandemic in our State and ruin all our efforts over the past months,” he said in the letter.
