Bhubaneswar: Putting a full stop on the speculations surrounding change of guard in Odisha Congress, party state In-charge A Chella Kumar said there is no possibility of change in the leadership in near future.
Addressing a presser here, the senior Congress leader on Thursday clarified that there is no point of holding meetings frequently as there is no chance of change in guard in Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC), neither now nor in near future. Change in the leadership is only scripted by the Media, he added.
Chella Kumar statement came in the backdrop of the frequent meetings held by some discontented leaders in the party in Bhubaneswar and the national capital.
“Odisha Congress is performing well under the leadership of Niranjan Patnaik. The recent Odisha Bandh called by the OPPC Chief over fuel price hike was successful,” Chella Kumar informed.
During his visit to Odisha, Chella Kumar attended the Legislature Party Meeting held at Congress Bhawan yesterday in the presence of senior leader Narasingha Mishra. At the meeting, the leaders prepared strategies to corner both the state Government and the Centre effectively during the ongoing Assembly Budget Session.
On the context of fuel price hike, Chella Kumar said, “During Congress’ rule, the Government did not put burden on the common people. The PM is only shedding crocodile tears. Fuel price hike can be termed as a day light robbery. The Government is only for corporates.”
