Cuttack: BJD MP from Kendrapara Anubhav Mohanty lashed out at his wife and Ollywood actress Varsha Priyarshani as the latter failed to appear before a family court for hearing over the marital discord between them on Thursday.
Accusing his wife, Mohanty said, “I came to the mediation centre of the SDJM court in connection with the case filed by Varsha. She has also earlier filed two separate cases against me. Even after filing reply to her every petition without dishonouring the dates, no one from her side is receiving the replies.”
“Varsha is deliberately not appearing before the court as she wants to linger the problem which needs to be resolved as soon as possible,” he said.
While criticising his wife, the he said “She is getting enough time to share photos, videos, views and opinions on social media platforms, but not getting five minutes to appear before the court.”
Reacting to the allegations levelled by the Mohanty, Varsha’s lawyer R K Rath said the claims are baseless.
“Varsha is unwell and she has informed the court through me that she cannot appear on health grounds. Earlier, she had appeared before the court and mediation centre several times, but Anubhav never deposed before the court then. There is a process of law and procedures of the court. He is overlooking them and misusing his power as an MP,” Rath alleged.
