Bhubaneswar: Number of COVID-19 cases in Odisha climbed to 162 as Keonjhar district reported its second positive case on Sunday. The person has been identified as a 30-year-old man (asymptomatic) of Hatadihi. He is a Kolkata returnee and was under quarantine, official sources said.
Earlier in the day, a 34-year-old man (West Bengal returnee) of Balasore district had tested positive for the virus. With fresh case from Keonjhar, the number of active cases in the state rose to 105 while 56 patients have recovered so far, sources said.
In Balasore district one more person tested positive for the deadly virus today.
According to Information & Public Relations Department, the new case in Balasore is a 34-year-old male. He has travel history to West Bengal. The patient is asymptomatic and was under quarantine. The contact tracing exercise is underway by the district administration.
With this, the total count in the district rose to 21 with 18 active cases. Recently, three patients in the district have recovered from the illness.
Earlier in the day, three positive cases had been reported from Ganjam 2 case and Jharsuguda one.
