Bhubaneswar: Monsoon Session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will be held from September 29 to October 7 in strict adherence to the COVID-19 guidelines.
Informing this, Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro said the business of the House will run on Sunday too. As elderly people are prone to COVID-19, senior MLAs can join the proceedings through video conferencing from their respective district headquarters, he added.
“Only October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) will be a holiday,” said Patro.
Earlier, the Speaker had informed that all MLAs and staff of the state Assembly will undergo COVID-19 test two days before the commencement of the monsoon session. And those who test negative for the virus will be allowed to participate in the proceedings.
