Miscreant loots Rs 5 lakh from woman in Bhubaneswar, third incident in 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: The capital city of Bhubaneswar is no more safe despite being converted into Commissionerate of Police and increasing the presence of police. Crime is increasing unabated despite round the clock patrolling.

In the third such incident with 24 hours looters have created havoc in Bhubaneswar and police is clueless. Yesterday, unidentified miscreants looted Rs 2.8 lakh at gun point from Indian Overseas Bank in Infocity area, a vegetable trader was looted of Rs 40,000 on Bhubaneswar-Puri highway.
In the third such incident on Tuesday an unidentified miscreant allegedly looted Rs 5 lakh from a woman at Trinath Bazaar near Phulnakhara in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

According to sources, the woman withdrew the cash from a bank near Pahala. While she was talking to a person keeping the bag containing the cash on her scooter, the miscreant grabbed the bag and fled the spot.

The woman and her brother tried to chase and nab the miscreant but in vain. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera.

Police have started an investigation into the incident and efforts were on to identify the culprit on the basis of the CCTV footage.
