Rajgangpur: The police arrested a private college student in Rajgangpur area of Sundargarh district on Tuesday on charges of raping a minor girl. The youth, Ganesh Toppo was arrested from his house in Banthupada village under Kutra area based on a complaint filed by the minor girl’s mother.
Rajgangpur IIC, Gokula Nanda Sahu said Ganesh came in contact with the 13-year-old girl through a missed call. After frequent conversations over phone, Ganesh and the minor girl engaged in love affairs. On the pretext of marriage, Ganesh later got into physical relationship with the minor girl.
When the girl’s mother came to know about the matter, she lodged a police complaint.
The medical examination of the youth and minor girl were carried out by the police today.
