Market Building sealed for violating Covid-19 guidelines

Bhubaneswar: A joint squad of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) today sealed Market Building at Unit-2 in Bhubaneswarl due to violation of COVID-19 guidelines.
As per reports, the action was taken after the team found violation of social distancing norms as people gathered in large numbers for shopping ahead of Raja festival.
Yesterday, more than 20 shops, including Amber, Vishal Mega Mart, Maa Tarini Bastralaya, and Lingaraj Lassi, were closed over the same reason.
Worth mentioning, the state government had relaxed night curfew till 10 PM for today to facilitate shopping for the festival. However, social distancing went for a toss at the market building as people thronged the place for last-minute shopping ahead of the festival as shutdown restrictions are being imposed in 11 districts of the state, including Khurda, on Saturdays and Sundays of this month for COVID-19 containment.
Later, Unit-1 market located near Market Building was also sealed for today due to for violation of social distancing norms.
