Maoist camp busted in Kandhamal

Kandhamal: The Special Operation Group (SOG) of Odisha Police busted a Maoist camp in Summarbandha forest area under Phiringia police limits in Kandhamal district.
The SOG team recovered a huge cache of explosives from the camp.
According to reports, around 15-20 red rebels including 5 women Maoists were present at the camp set up at Ladapadar Reserve Forest area.
Acting on a tip-off, a SOG team launched an combing operation in the forest on June 29 to nab the ultras. However, all the Maoists managed to escape from the spot in the dense forest.
The police unit recovered 15 kg explosives including urea, gunpowder and other explosive substances. Intensifying the search operation, the SOG personnel recovered 28 detonators, multimeters, bag, black caps, rechargeable battery, camp equipment, Maoist banners, posters and literature in the area, a press release stated on Wednesday.
