Bhubaneswar: Tragedy struck the family of a 30-year-old person from Mayurbhanj district as he died of COVID-19 in Haryana while his kin had made arrangements for his wedding after his scheduled return.
The deceased has been identified as Sushant of Dihirakula village under Udala police limits in the district.
According to reports, he was working in a private company in Haryana for the last 10 years. The company suspended its operations during COVID-19 lockdown and he was unable to return home.
He complained of fever eight days ago and breathed his last couple of days ago during treatment at a hospital. His swab sample was collected for the COVID-19 test after his death and it tested positive for the virus.
The body was later cremated in Haryana as per COVID-19 guidelines. A pall of gloom has descended on the village after the tragic incident.
