Bhubaneswar: In view of increasing number of COVID cases in Odisha, the State Government gave additional charge to IPS officer Amitabh Takhur as the Special Secretary in Home Department to tackle the pandemic situation.
The 1998-batch IPS officer, who is currently posted as the Inspector General (Operations) in Odisha Police, will look after the matter relating to COVID-19 in addition to his duties.
Prior to his appointment as the Home Special Secretary, Thakur was supervising a 24X7 control room, which was opened to monitor the issues regarding enforcement of lockdown to combat spread of COVID-19 in the State.
