Rourkela: Taking disciplinary action, Odisha Director General of Police Abhay suspended Biramitrapur Police Station Inspector in-Charge in connection with a rape and abortion of a minor girl in Sundargarh district.
The Biramitrapur IIC Ananda Majhi has been placed under suspension for dereliction of duty and his alleged involvement in illegal activities, informed DIG (western range) Kavita Jalan on Friday.
An official in DSP rank is probing into the rape and abortion incident. Legal action will be taken against the persons involved in the case, she said.
It is to be mentioned that IIC Ananda Majhi is among six persons booked in the heinous crime. Along with Majhi, another police official, the minor girl’s relative, his two friends and a doctor, who had performed abortion on the victim, are involved in the case.
