Heavy rains to lash several districts of Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar predicted rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm in several districts of Odisha.

The Met Centre has issued Yellow warning for heavy in as many as 13 districts of the State on Saturday. Those districts are- Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh and Keonjhar.

Similarly, thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nuapada, Bolangir, Sonepur, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Khurda and Puri today, the Met Centre had informed in its evening weather bulletin on Friday.

“The State will receive light to moderate rainfall for the next three days while some parts might receive heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning. Most of the districts will receive light to moderate rainfall in the next three days. Then, rainfall is likely to subside,” said the director of the regional IMD centre in Bhubaneswar, H R Biswas.

Day 1 (valid from 8.30 am IST of June 26 to 8.30 am IST of June 27)

Yellow Warning (To be updated):

Heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh and Jajpur.

Thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Ganjam, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sundargarh, Jajpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.

Day 2 (valid from 8.30 am IST of June 27 to 8.30 am IST of June 28).

Yellow Warning (To be updated): Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Deogarh.
