Govt appoints 8 bureaucrats for Ganjam for Covid management

Berhampur: As the number of COVID-19 cases in Ganjam is on rise with nearly 500 cases being reported in last 48 hours creating panic among the residents, Odisha Government on Saturday appointed two IAS officers and six OAS officers for management of the situation in the district.
Works Department Deputy Secretary Parul Patawari has been appointed as Special ADM of Ganjam in-charge of Chatrapur Sub-division and Puri DRDA PD Vishal Singh Puri appointed as Special ADM of Ganjam in-charge of Bhanjanagar Sub-division.
Besides, the six OAS officers are Sudhakar Nayak, Padmanav Behera, Lokanath Dalabehera, Shaktikanta Ray, Chittaranjan Mohanta and Suvendra Kumar Samal.
The officers have been directed to report to the Ganjam Collector immediately without availing joining time.
The COVID-19 tally of Ganjam district today crossed the 2000-mark with 213 new cases. The number of active cases in the district stands at 917 while 20 patients have so far succumbed to the deadly virus.
