Contractual woman worker lodges complaint of sexual harassment against Senior OAS officer

Bhubaneswar: An outsourced woman employee serving in the Directorate of AYUSH has levelled serious charges of sexual harassment against the Director of the Directorate.
The victim has filed a complaint against the Director Bibhu Prasad Sarangi at the Mahila Police Station here on Monday.
According to the complaint filed by the victim with the police, the accused used to send her obscene messages and explicit sex videos on the messaging platform WhatsApp.
The victim has stated in her complaint that she works as an Accounts Manager in the AYUSH Directorate through an outsourcing agency.
Following receipt of such messages, the victim has claimed to have blocked his number.
However, Sarangi did not stop at this and has been making obscene overtures through phone call, the woman employee has alleged in her complaint.
She claims to have a recording of the phone call in her possession.
The victim has also claimed that the officer has threatened to remove her from her job if she stopped responding to his overtures.
“Bibhu Prasad Sarangi, Director, AYUSH Directorate had sent me obscene messages on 29th to which I had opposed. And last Friday he has sent obscene messages along with obscene videos. He has also made obscene overtures through phone calls. He has threatened to take my job. Such people should be exposed. I have faith in the law and have filed an FIR with all evidence,” the victim told reporters after filing her complaint at the Mahila Police Station here today.
Inspector in-Charge of Mahila Police Station Banita Moharana said that a case in this matter has been registered and the police is investigating into the matter.
