Puri: The police on Tuesday busted a flesh trade racket in Baliapanda area of Puri and rescued two young girls. Also, three persons were arrested for allegedly running the racket.
Based on a complaint filed by a young girl, the police raided a room in Krishna Sea Site apartment in Baliapanda area and unearthed the flesh trade racket. Three persons were held from the room whereas another one managed to escape.
During the preliminary investigation, the police found out young girls were brought from Khurda district to Puri with the help of middlemen and engaged in flesh trade.
A Scorpio, Rs 4,200 cash, medicine and other objectionable items were seized from the room during the search.
The accused were Chinmaya Swarup Panda from Jajpur Road, Sunil Kumar Samal from Balichandrapur and Chinmaya Ranjan Rout from Panikoili area.
