Farmers’ call for chakka jam tomorrow for three hours
Bhubaneswar: As the farmers’ protest on Friday entered 73rd day, there is a buzz going around that they will observe Bharat Bandh on February 6 (tomorrow).
However, the fact is the protesting farmers have called for a three-hour ‘Chakka Jam’ not Bharat Bandh tomorrow as a mark of their protest against three farm laws. During Chakka Jam, various farmer unions will block roads all over the country for three hours i.e 12 noon-3 pm.
Speaking to mediapersons, farmer leaders said all the roads, including highways would be blocked between 12 noon to 3 pm tomorrow. All major roads across the country will also be blocked. The agitation against the black laws will be country-wide tomorrow,” informed Bhartiya Kisan Union.
“We are not going to do any blockade in Delhi, the king there has already fortified it, there is no need for us to do a blockade now, but blockade will take place in other parts of the national capital region, said BKU leader Rakesh Tikait while briefing media about the proposed February 6 ‘Chakka Jam’.
However, a mega rally has also been called in response to Monday’s Budget 2021 that “ignored” the demands of farmers and to protest against the internet ban by the Centre.
