Explosives dump of Maoists unearthed in Malkangiri by BSF

Malkangiri: A huge cache of explosives suspected to have stored by Maoists was unearthed by a team of Border Security Force (BSF) jawans from Piplapadar jungle in Malkangiri district on Thursday.

As per reports, the explosives including Gelatin and Detonators were kept in an HDPE container and hidden in an underground bunker to be used to target security forces operating there. Besides, Maoist uniforms and literature were seized from the dump.

It is suspected that the explosives belong to the Andhra-Odisha Border (AOB) division of the CPI (Maoist).

Following the recovery of the explosives, the security forces have intensified the combing operation in the area.

It is pertinent to mention here that Odisha DGP Abhay had claimed that the State police have brought over 80 per cent area of Maoist hotbed in Malkangiri district under police cover.
